all walks of life ranging from young people to seniors. We practice
together as a group and make accommodations for each individual's
physical condition and level.
In the kids' class, we have students from the first grade of elementary

Seto Sensei teaches Kihon (basics), Kata (forms),
and Kumite (sparring) according to individual levels. First we learn
what kind of motion is strong, fast, and correct according to Sensei's
fundamental principles. As we increase our level, we learn proper
muscle use with Tsuki (punch), Keri (kick), and Unsoku (movement).
Additionally, we pursue strength and speed by perfecting one technique
at a time.
If you feel overcome with exhaustion during training, feel free
to take a short rest after bowing to Sensei (Rei). Then, when you
feel sufficiently recovered, rejoin training with Rei to Sensei.
The adult classes are attended mainly by people who work in the
Tokyo area. Ages range from teenagers and young adults up to seniors
in their 60's. The ratio of men to women is about equal. All our
students approach Karate training with seriousness. However, we
also enjoy training and socializing together.
In the kids' class, there are about 90 students ranging from elementary
school students up to high school students. Many of their parents
train with us too. Several teachers work together in running the
class in order to properly instruct students at different levels.
If you are interested in our Dojo, please come and visit us. We
are looking forward to seeing you! |
